Inserting a File Manager Instance

The File Manager feature that is included with HTML Editor allows you to insert an advanced file manager interface for uploading files and providing image editing features such crop, resize and rotate.

The most common use for a File Manager instance is to replace an existing file upload function you have on your form. Instead of a simple Browse button that allows your user to select a file to upload, the button will launch the File Manager where the user can select a file already uploaded, upload a new file, and edit an image to select.

Show directories in File Manager: If selected, this will include the Directories panel within the File Manager allowing the user to navigate between subdirectories.

Sub-directory: Enter a subdirectory for this file manager instance.
This is based on the upload directory that is specified in the Site Settings interface.

Field Name: Specify the field name you would like to be used for this form element.

Initial Value: Enter the initial value to be used for this form element, or select the dynamic lightning bolt to specify a value dynamically.

Select the Site Settings Edit icon to launch the Site Settings interface and configure database details and security settings.
