The following details the configuration requirements to support a rate request from FedEx:
- Account number: Enter the FedEx account number assigned to your account.
- Meter number: Enter the meter number you want to use for your account.
- XML server: Enter the full path to the secure XML server for your account (should be available by default).
- Carrier type: Chooses the primary carrier method, either FedEx Ground or FedEx Express. To allow the customer to choose the option, insert the FedEx Carrier Type snippet in the shipping form and select that form list's name from the Dynamic Data dialog.
- Service type: Selects the specific kind of service desired. To allow the customer to choose the option, insert the FedEx Service Type snippet in the shipping form and select that form list's name from the Dynamic Data dialog.
- Dropoff type: Determines the type of drop-off desired. Options are Regular pick up, Request courier, Drop box, Business service center, and Station; typically these are set to one type by the shipper.
- Return type: Sets the type of return allowed. Options are Non-return, Non-return or online label, Return manager, Print return label, Email label, and Express/Call Tag. Again, these are typically set to one value by the shipper.
- State: Enter or choose the state or province where your packages are shipped from. Select the lightning bolt to open the Dynamic Data dialog box if this value is assigned dynamically.
- Postal code: Enter the postal code that your packages are shipped from. Select the lightning bolt to open the Dynamic Data dialog box if this value is assigned dynamically.
- Country: Enter or choose the country where your packages are shipped from. Select the lightning bolt to open the Dynamic Data dialog box if this value is assigned dynamically.
- Packaging: Sets whether all of the items in the cart should be shipped together or separately.
- Item is shipped: Determines whether the item in the cart is to be shipped via FedEx or not. This setting is particularly useful in an online store which has a mixed of physical and digital goods; to apply this feature, assign the proper value to a column in the product database table and choose that value from the Dynamic Data dialog box.
- Quantity: Sets the number of packages used for the shipment. If items are sent individually, this can be set as 1. Otherwise, you may wish to use dynamic data to determine how the shipment is to be broken up if there is an option for multiple packages to be sent.
- Declared value (USD): Sets the declared value of each object in the cart. If the items have separate values and they are shipped separately, use the Dynamic Data dialog box to assign this field to the proper column; to combine values, use the Dynamic Data dialog box to select a calculated shopping cart column like TotalPrice.
- Weight units: Declares the type of weight units to be used in calculating the total weight of the shipment. Standard values are either LBS (pounds) or KGS (kilograms).
- Package weight: Determines the total weight of the package. Typically this field is set to the calculated shopping cart column TotalWeight by selecting the lightning bolt and expanding the shopping cart node in the Dynamic Data dialog box.
- Package type: Sets the type of packaging used. Choose the Your Packaging option if you use non-FedEx packaging; to use FedEx packaging choose one of the following: FedEx Envelope, FedEx Pak, FedEx Express Box, FedEx Tube, FedEx 10Kg Box, or FedEx 25Kg Box. If you previously selected FedEx Ground as your service, only the Your Packaging option is available.
- Size units: Declares the type of size units to be used in calculating the total size of the shipment. Standard values are either IN (inches) or CM (centimeters).
- Package length: Sets the length of the package to be shipped.
- Package width: Sets the width of the package to be shipped.
- Package height: Sets the height of the package to be shipped.
