Customer and web developer, Joerg Andernach, came across WebAssist when he was searching for a web development solution that would allow him a robust feature set, flexibility and independence.
Joerg began with Data Bridge and eCart, creating a modern, full-featured, storefront and backend CMS for his client, Swiss-Steamer. Then using the Swiss-Steamer store and CMS as a blueprint, he built websites with similar features for SwissEspresso and Tedesco Trade Co, also using MySQLi Server Behaviors for the latter.
Why WebAssist was the right solution for JoergHistorically, Joerg's web development company designed primarily static websites, utilizing checkout capabilities from third party eCommerce solutions. However, they desired more independence and the ability to provide clients more flexibility than the various “off-the-shelf” solutions provided. In 2012, they began extensive research for a solution that would allow them to have complete flexibility in design, as well as a range of dynamic and commerce features that wouldn't require extensive hand coding. Additionally, they wanted independence from any possible changes in charges, fees, etc. that come with many of the “off-the-shelf” eCommerce solutions. They discovered that the WebAssist extensions met all of their needs.
Joerg used Data Bridge and eCart to build the Swiss-Steamer website and backend CMS, then built SwissEspresso and Tedesco Trade Co, also utilizing MySQLi Server Behaviors for Tedesco. Saving time with the WebAssist extensions prevented them from having to hire an additional web developer or outside company for their complex set of dynamic and commerce features.
