Power Store 3 and customization!
Woah,
I have been strugling with this whole concept of how Web Assist markets all these products
eg, Power Store 3, And the ability to customize using the web extensions. and Dreamweaver. Yes its easy to setup either at your ISP or local testing server, with a few tweaks for the local setup. My problem was I setup first at my ISP, Great worked fine.
Now I want to customize using DreamweaverCS4 and CSSMenu Writer or Ecart, and all the extensions that are designed for this application.
typically, you FTP your site to your local machine after setting up testing server, I use xaamp, Then I exported the MySql database from my ISP and imported it to local data base.
All is well, tables are all there, and I can connect to database, changing the connection.php for the local site, Also modified the wa_settings to reflect the local root name user and password. The problem starts when you try to view live in DW, or through browser, Also had added treexml.xml to replace current in CSS Menu home.
add added the other fixes that were show in the forum. You get all these errors, MySql, connections and on and on. So I have given up on trying to customize a site that was already setup at your ISP. and after reading this post, I may try this instead.
What did you do about the database at your ISP? did you export from your local MySql server? to your ISP MySql, using phpadmin?
I wish Web Assist would draft a procedure that details how to customize Power Store 3 using Dreamweaver along with the extensions. on using a remote site what problems you may run into.
They leave to all of us to work out these details, like everyone has done here.
And post many questions just trying to get it to work right!
