Create and manage your pages

This Dreamweaver wizard generates registration, log in, log out, update profile and reset password pages - all the functionality you need to give your website visitors a secure account.

• Specify which fields you want on the user registration, user update and log in pages.
• Add "remember me" and automatic login to your sign in page.
• Customize your form button design directly in the wizard and/or attach your existing style sheet to the pages.

Define your form field settings

Save time by defining your form field labels and validation in one wizard. Then whenever you use that form field in your application, the validation will already be configured.

• Optionally use CAPTCHA in your forms to prevent spam registration.
• Encrypt user passwords; choose from Crypt, Hash, MD5, RIJNDAEL and SHA1.
• Use the random password generator to create highly secure passwords.
• Provide a workflow for website visitors to securely reset their password by emailing them a reset link.

Configure user groups and access rules

You can set up rules to allow (or deny) users access to specific pages of your website.

• The Access Groups Manager allows you to set up specific user groups that you can specify in your access rules. For example, you may want an Administrator user group or a hierarchy of subscribers.
• The Access Rules Manager allows you to define rules based on certain conditions. For example, the Log In Success rule is based upon the condition that the user is successfully logged in to their browser session.
• You can create your own “add if” and “restrict if” conditions based on criteria you specify. You can even stack multiple conditions within a rule. For example, you might create a rule where a user is part of an Administrator user group and meets another criteria in your database.
• The Access Pages Manager allows you to select pages in your website to grant access to based on your rules.

Server behaviors

Dreamweaver provides built-in server behaviors, which put a snippet of server-side code on your page. This tool provides custom server behaviors you access through the Dreamweaver server behaviors panel that allow you to configure specific behaviors you may need in building a user registration and sign-in web application. They include:

• Authenticate your website visitors based on your specified criteria
• Restrict access to pages based on your specified criteria
• Show specific regions of a page based on your specified criteria
• Configure and trigger reset password emails
