PayPal Standard Calculations

Is there an easy fix to this issue? I have searched and not found any answer. The discount of "x" dollars on product "y" shows up as evenly deducted from each product in an order on the paypal summary. The final total of the purchase is correct, but customers only see that product "y" was not the price quoted ... some drop the sale, while loyal customers figure it out ... what is the adjustment I need to make to the calculation formula on the confirm page? Thanks guys.
