Not accepting Periods and commas.

Not accepting Periods and commas.

Using css form builder I have applied validation to a for I created outside of the form builder wizard. It all works great except that it doesn't allow any kind of punctuation marks to be used in any field except the email. All are set as validation type Alphanumeric, except the email field.

I tried adding the specific punctuation marks via the "allow other" option by placing the actual punctuation...but it doesn't work.

Any suggestions?

Ok..so I tried it again in the "allow other" and that worked for the text area option...the text fields for the name and location...while I change to make a comma available and spaces and no numbers...it opens and always reverts after saved to single quote accepted, numbers accepted and no spaces.

Open any other validations and it gives me some weird values...corrupted validation maybe? Too many revisions to via the wizard and it freaked?

any suggestions?

So here's something I find weird. On another page I have validation as well and it shows requires_once for validation toolkit php files, two of them...following that is php code for the form fields. The validation for this works great.

Now..on my problem page I don't see anything like this...only the script in its specific tags and the onsubmit code. I have removed everything related to the validation (that I can think of) and get good results from one form and not the other...sometimes neither work...Oh, and I don't see anything in the server validation window...only the universal email stuff.

I've tried this so many times. I even copy pasted the requires code..but not the php code since it'f for different form and fields. Don't know what else to do except..maybe copy and paste the html and remove all php and js related to wa..and start over.

You can see the code by visiting here. Maybe you can see in the code why it's not working.

Please post back with a copy of this page in a zip archive so that we can take a look and try to spot what the issue might be. I'm not sure rite now if the validations are becoming corrupted, or if there is just a setting that is out of place somewhere.

Sorry for the delay

It took me a bit to get back...here's the file. I got it to work by copy and pasting from a working form. But now, any new validation I create doesn't give me a validation folder or php require once or even the server behaviours... I tried on a different site I'm working and had this issue. The forms send the information, which tells me Universal Email is working fine. But the

Also, the file has been loaded to my clients server and it's giving me the following error:

Warning
: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cookie - headers already sent by (output started at /home/content/s/u/r/surfprofessor/html/index.php:1) in /home/content/s/u/r/surfprofessor/html/WA_ValidationToolkit/WAVT_ValidatedForm_PHP.php on line 3

and

Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent (output started at /home/content/s/u/r/surfprofessor/html/index.php:1) in /home/content/s/u/r/surfprofessor/html/WA_ValidationToolkit/WAVT_ValidatedForm_PHP.php on line 3

The forms send the information, which tells me Universal Email is working fine. The validation on the forms works and on submit...everything seems to flow properly, hence the fact that UE is working, however, it doesn't redirect to the confirmation pages.

I already have it running on this hosting here working great, but it gives this error on the godaddy server.

Here's the php info link phpinfo.php

Any ideas?

Bom issue partially resolved errors

I tried solving the problems with the BOM check in Dreamweaver...I already knew I didn't have it set in preferences, but found another thread mentioning it's also in the page properties menu option. Opened the specific files, changed and now the pages open without any errors. The order page sends the form information and redirects to the confirmation page.

However, the index page gives an error message after submitting the form:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/content/s/u/r/surfprofessor/html/index.php:4) in /home/content/s/u/r/surfprofessor/html/index.php on line 14

and doesn't redirect to the confirmation page. You can check it out at surfprofessor.net

While I had verified no spaces...I will confirm.

So, yes...it was spaces in the php code. It seems that the extension got corrupted and it didn't show me the require once code for the index page validation...which in turn could not let me see the space in between the validation and universal email code.

Don't know how this would play a part but, my host server is running 5.2.12 and my clients is running 5.2.8. On my server there were no errors, his had the ones mentioned. Not sure if the newer dot releases of PHP fixed the bug.

All solved right now.

Not solved

Ok...so here's the deal. While my errors have been solved and with copy/paste I have been able to get things working. There's an issue that still shows up.

I'm not sure if require once for the two validation php files are supposed to show up when only client validation is used so this may not be a problem. But for me, when using client validation only, well, they don't show up. They only do when server validation is used. That being said. That's not the biggest problem since it seems to work anyway.

My problem is with the client validation itself and how I make selections for my settings (alphanumeric specifically), realize they are not applying properly, and when I go back in to verify; everything is changed...Uploaded files show what I'm talking about.

Any suggestions?

I'm having trouble determining which validations you are having problems with. When I edit them they look like they have been configured correctly. Please let me know specifically the form and validation on it that are giving you the bad results. Also, let us know how the behavior is supposed to be configured so we have a comparison.
