Powerstore Change gateway to First Data

Hello.

I am hoping someone might have some helpful info about changing the payment gateway
options from authorize.net and paypal to FirstData.

More specifically..

I have followed the steps provided in the pdf documentation on this topic.

...Deleted the ecart authorize.net and paypal server behaviors and the specified code from
the confirm.php page.

Thoroughly checked that the deleted server behaviors and code lines are the right ones.

The problem starts with the next step which is to insert ecart local checkout server behavior

I get an error that says that i must have a site defined and an ecart object available.

so... site defined. I thought i had that covered. The first thing i did was set up a new site
in Dreamweaver CS4. Then i moved all the files and folders into the root directory of the new site. ( I tried it first in a subdirectory which had the same results. )

From there, i began to edit the confirm.php page.

Im running a Windows7 PC
Xampp
created site with PHP MySQl as testing server
created an empty database in mysql local
created a database connection local

I am trying to set up the PowerStore on my Apache local testing server
or whatever way will allow me to make css changes and then put the files to the live server.
Also, and most importantly i must set up my FirstData API Certificate and change the
purchase gateway options to First Date.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

you should be able to get First Data implemented in PowerStore, have you looked at this pdf:

Thany you for your response.

Yes i did read that pdf and everything is fine until i have to insert the new local checkout from the server behaviors ecart menu.

Then i get an error.

Since i made the original post on this forum i have uploaded the files to my live server
and set up the powerstore with the payment gateway set to none. I have also downloaded
the newly configured powerstore files and folders to my local site in dreamweaver.

I have not tried to import the MySQL Database so that i will have a working version on my
local testing server. Im hoping i don't need to. Although, it would be convenient if it can be done. I did not install cURL though.

Anyway, Most Importantly, I have also discovered that my web hosting is on a shared server
so it turns out that i will not be able to process credit card payments anyway.

So i updated my account to a dedicated server but that will not happen until tomorrow.
I also need to set up the FirstData API SSL Certificate that is included with the gateway.

Not quite sure how im going to set it all up but I do appreciate your assistance. Thank you.

Do you have PowerStore with FirstData?

I would like to be able to have the confirm.php page already changed for FirstData and
then upload the files to the server and run the setup live.

Dont know if that is possible. That is the way i got the error.
I followed the directions to the letter, and the error i got was when i tried to insert the local checkout. It said to be sure the site was defined and that there must be an ecart object available. I just wasnt sure at that point if i should insert an ecart object or not.
The site was already defined before i put the files in it.

I did not configure a connection to the database because i do not want to change the database settings and pathnames throughout the many pages of the Powerstore.

So the Powerstore is installed and configured without a payment option on the a live shared linux hosting server with an ssl certificate. All the files after setup have been downloaded via dreamweaver cs4 onto my local testing server in a defined site with no database connection.

and i have not yet begun to attempt deleting the necessary files again.

Any advise you have that could help me have this store operational by tomorrow afternoon would be great. I have used webassist before, and it never really seemed difficult to get anyone on the phone. I did not consider that there would not be live support for the product.
It actually advertises ample support for the product.

The pdf instructions are informative but do not completely specify what order certain actions should happen.

ie. Is it best to upload to the live site then run setup, then download the updated files, then change the gateway?

I originally thought that Powerstore would be an extension that had to be installed with the Dreamweaver extension manager.

..if no code is removed on the site yet and no changes are made, then what would cause the lines of code that are specified to be deleted to be out of possition?

There were many missing details like that in the pdf instructions for changing the gateway.

I did pay close attention to directions though, and would greatly appreciate if WebAssist support would help me accomplish the goal of this gateway configuration and in addition please inform me if there is any of the PowerStore functionality that will be lost if not using the preconfigured payment gateway options and switching to FirstData.

Thank you for your help

PowerStore FirstData

Thank you

Update:

In the pdf document for changing the gateway, there is an instruction to delete the two existing server behaviors for authorize.net and paypal. Then the next instruction is to delete a selection of code on the confirm.php page between specific numbered lines of code.
There is a note that if you have already made changes to the page code then the beginning line number of that code may be in a different possition on the page.

Some of the code that needed to be deleted, was not between the first and last lines of code to be deleted. So I searched the code on the page and was able to locate the lines that did not get deleted.

That solved the error problem with inserting the local checkout with FirstData

New Problem:
What is the fastest way to intigrate the FirstData API and Certificate?

and if I the FirstData Payment Gateway integration, will I loose any of the functions of the powerstore?

You will not loose any PowerStore functionality, but the gateways settings will not get applied any more, but you should be able to manage your orders.

I recommend that you run the eCart check out wizard on a test site with a dummy product and make sure everything is working as expected there before inserting the code to your PowerStore site. This will make it easier for you to debug any issue.

let me know if you still have any other questions.

Is it working?

mantisdigital -

I would be interested to know if you were able to get FirstData working? I am in the middle of setting up a store now and will attempt to do the same thing today...

Adding to this thread

I am also trying to change the payment gateway on PS3 to FirstData using eCart5.

In going through the steps in the PDF referenced in an earlier reply, there are some steps that are left out, so I'm not sure how to proceed. My first two attempts at this resulted in there being no "Payment Info" area on the checkout page to enter credit card information...

Just in case others need this same help:

Question 1:

On page 3 of the PDF, step 8 says "Proceed through the wizard, completing the various options when necessary." There are 4 more steps in completing the wizard after pointing to the success and failure files (step 1).

Step 2 has a few values that need to be customized. The first being "configfile" where you enter the six- to ten-digit number assigned at merchant account setup.

After entering the number, do I click the lightening bolt to the right of the field? (I didn't) If so, what do I select in the pop-up window?

Question 2 (Still step 2):
The next value to change is "keyfile" where you reference the PEM for your store. The value it has there is <?php echo realpath("../linkpoint/test.pem") ?>

I am pretty sure I should change "test.pem" to the name of the PEM I received from FirstData, but I can't find a "linkpoint" folder anywhere on the site, so I created one in the site root and copied my PEM file to that folder.

Is this correct?

---------------

I didn't make any changes on step 3 and unchecked the option to use PayPal on step 4.

---------------

In trying to determine what's going wrong, I noticed that at the top of the code in confirm.php in the //WA eCart Includes, there is this line:

<?php
require_once("WA_eCart/Adv_CO_Scripts/LinkPointAPI_PHP.php");
?>

If I look at that file, lines 4-7 read:

$keyfile = "";
$host = "";
$port = "";
$outXml = "<order>";

Should there be any data between the quotes in keyfile, host & port? Or I guess what I"m asking is, should the wizard have put the info I entered in there?

I wish I could attach my confirm.php file to this post, and a text file of the whole thing is too large. I have made five TXT with the confirm.php code in case you want to see it.

Thank you, in advance, for your patience & help!
