Theme-It 1.01 beta build now available

A beta build for Theme-It 1.01 is now available. Log in and visit the Download Center; click on Theme-It, then the Beta Builds section of the page.

This build fixes bugs that caused:
-Preview to fail and possibly crash Dreamweaver when Theme-It was ran on a page that contained a flash object.

-Theme-It to add a second alt tag to an an image when the & or - characters were used in the alt value field in Theme-It.

-An onLoad error when running Theme-it on a document that has a css include file that is any number of levels above the current document.

-Images used multiple times in CSS will now only appear in the Manage Images tab once unless different attributes for the image are used.

-Prevented background images from appearing in the Manage Images tab when certain syntax was used.

Theme-It locks up Dreamweaver CS4

I just purchased Theme-It, installed the extension, and the 1st web page I opened from one of my sites to try the product, locks up Dreamweaver. The page does have Flash on it.
So I am assuming this new Beta version has some fix for that...
What a pain to buy the product and have to come immediately to forums and support to see why the product does not work!
And if I load this new Beta version I will get no support... alas maybe not worth trying to use this product yet and get my money back.

We will support the beta. It is just a disclaimer that we haven't had a chance to test it much since it was made so recently.

Theme-it-uninstall

As I just tried the Beta version, it also did not work with Flash on the page, it also messed up the CSS on the page, and duplicated the css code for colors...

I am trying now to uninstall the extension:
So my question is...
I tried to now Uninstall the Theme-it extension, it takes some time, but it seems like it uninstalls. However, now when I open Dreamweaver, it gives me an error dialog box that says "Unable to find file wa_themeit.htm in the configuration/floaters directory. The floater will not be shown.

I tried to re-install, then uninstall again and this error will not go away.

how do I get rid of this error?? I just want it to uninstall cleanly!
Thank you.
Allan

Go to Window->Workspace Layout->Reset 'your workspace'

any chance we can see a copy of the css that was duplicated? that doesn't sound like something that anyone else has reported yet, so I'd like to look into it. Could you attach a copy of the css file you had difficulty with?

Reset Workspace

thanks Ray. Resetting the workspace in dreamweaver did stop that error. Thanks!

When you load web page with FLASH, Theme-it and Dreamweaver CS4 stop responding.

I am attaching the other page which is very simple html/css all in one page.
The problems I saw were:
1. A web page with a flash banner. When I would have that index.html page open in Dreamweaver, then try to open Theme-it, it would just sit there... and say Not Responding...

2. When I opened a much more simple page of just CSS code and HTML, it did respond and I could play with the Theme-it colors etc. however, when I went and looked at the code inside the HTML page, it had lots of duplicates. For example, the color of background was #3333333, and it wrote it like 8 times! All the color css on the page had lots of duplicates.
Luckily I was just using a simple test page and it was not a customer website....

You are the first person to report this problem, so we would like to look into it with the sample files you have provided... however there are no attachments and theme it doesn't work on live sites. We could try importing from that url, but that just introduces more variables between us and the potential problem. Please provided a zipped copy of the files you are having difficulty with. The simple one with repeat styles would be very interesting to see. Thank you for the feedback.

Attached files

Well it is unfortunate if I am the 1st person to have these problems where the product does not work with FLASH on the page, and then it also creates duplicate coding on a simple page with css/html. Perhaps the other DW extensions I have installed, some of which are WEB Assist extensions could be causing it to act weird in DW CS4? I dont know.
Ironically these were the 1st 2 pages of tests I tried with Theme-it.

I am attaching the 2 index files. one is simple page with some FLASH.
The other is a more simple page with no flash.
The page with FLASH crashes DW when opening Theme-it, and the simple css/html page
does open ok, but then when you click a few color changes in Theme-it, it creates duplicate code of the Hex colors in the CSS.

I hope this helps. Thanks

Thank you, this did help to reproduce the repeated colors issue. We will make sure to include that fix in our next update. We still were not able to reproduce the issue with flash, but will will continue to test with your files. Thank you.
