Adding 3 lots of the same item to shopping cart causes a problem

When I add 3 lots of the same item to shopping cart the first 2 are okay and it just adds them together. But when I add a third of the same item it creates it on a new line as if it is a different product. This error doesn't happen if I change the quantity in the shopping cart and click the update button.

I just checked another website for the same problem and it has the same issue.
Thanks

in the cart object, you have set the Quantity Column to be Unique.

Uncheck the unique option for the quantity column to correct the issue.
