Site went South

Friday we went to our website at index.php and it replied "No database selected" and when we go to the admin it will not take our password. The database on our mysql server is fine and it working. Please help us get this back up and running. We have work countless hours to get this to work and do not want to start over.

Thanks Randy Little

sql connection

how are yu testing your database

First thing I'd do is use something like Navicat and connect to the database from my local machine.

Assuming I could see all the tables I then check the credentials used in Powerstore.

L Server it self.

The No Database Selected error means that there is a problem connecting to the mysql server.

90% of the time, it means the information in the Connections/PowerStoreConnection.php file is not correct.

the other 10% of the time, it is a problem with the MySQL Server itself.

double check the Connections/PowerStoreConnection.php file on the remote server to make sure the information for connecting to the MySQL Server is correct

I got the site up and running again. First important question. I have made no changer to any files and the site went down. Is there a security problem in the software that would change the users name by itself. The name was changed and I change it back and the site is working fine.

Did you delete the install folder for power store after completing the installation?

you should always make sure to delete that install folder.

I have wanted to get into Navicat and downloaded the trial or free one to learn but never was able to connect to my server. Do you know the secret handshake? :-)
