Connecting to a mySQL NOT on a local machine

OK, it would seem to me that I should be able to connect to a mySQL database located on my web server that IS NOT my local PC. Every time I try to do this using Dreamweaver CS4 I get an "Unidentified Error".

Any thoughts?

What are you using for "MySQL Server" in you configuration? I was getting the same error until I talked to my hosting service and found they use a different ip to host the database. Also you have to be sure you have the user and password set up correctly for the remote database.
