CKEditor 4 released today

Ckeditor 4 has been released today, so can a Power CMS installation running version 3.6.5 be upgraged as before by replacing the ckeditor folder with the version 4 folder?

No, the file structure of the new CKEditor version is not the same as the previous, it wont work if you copy the file for the new version over the files for the older version.

I have posted a feature request to have the CKEditor version of Design Extender upgraded, but i cannot say when that will happen.

Does that mean existing sites using version 3 could not be upgraded to version 4. only new sites developed with the upgraded Design Extender when it becomes available?

I'm sure there will be a way to upgrade CKEditor in existing sites when the Design Extender update becomes available, but at this time, I cant really say since it is not available yet.

Hi Jason

Do you have any more up to date information on the Design Extender update which will allow the use of inline editing with CKeditor 4 ?

Design Extender does not support Inline Editing with CKEditor at this time.

I do not have details for when an update for this will be made available.

I was going to incorporate CKEditor inline editing in one of my projects and Ray said it can be done using custom code and he can help set it up via WebAssist premiere support ticket :)

Thanks Jason

Thanks designerwest, are you going ahead incorporating CKEditor inline editing in one of your projects? If you are, then I would be interested to hear the outcome.
