Repeat Activation

This type of repeat activation can occur for users that have a changing MAC or Physical Address for the primary connection.

To see if this is the problem for you please record your Mac address then the next time you are prompted for activation record this info again.

To find out the MAC address:
1) Go to the Start Menu -> Run. Type "cmd" and click on OK to bring up a command prompt.
2) At the command prompt type "ipconfig /all > c:ipconfig.txt"
This will create a file in your C drive called ipconfig.txt. This file will have the MAC address in it.

Please record these values and compare them to see if it is changing for you. If this MAC address changes then you will be prompted for activation again. Please get back to us with the result.

It definitely looks like the MAC addresses are not changing. There is only one other reason that this might happen this way, it could be based on the user you are logged in with. Do you login to your machine with the administrator user? When you installed this were you using the same user you login with?

The reason I ask is because the license file is stored in a directory specific to your user, if you installed with a different user than what you use the program with you could have this problem. The activation routine is looking for the file in your users location and if it is not found then you will be prompted for activation again.

Please post back with this information about your user's and the install so we can determine if this might be contributing to the problem.

Yes, I login as a administrator user and when I installed, I used the same login.

Sorry, I don't think I was clear enough on my last reply. I wondering if the user you login with is the 'administrator' user, not an admin level user. The paths for where things are installed can differ if you install with the built in administrator user. For example if your user is user1 then the path for the license file would be:

C:\Documents and Settings\user1\Application Data\WebAssist\Expression Web\CSSSculptor

However, if you installed as the Administrator user the file may not be in this location, but may instead be in one of these two:

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\WebAssist\Expression Web\CSSSculptor

or

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\WebAssist\Expression Web\CSSSculptor

To get past this issue you will need to have a license.dat file in the correct location. If the location is different from the place that the activation is looking for it you will be prompted to activate again. Please take a look in all three of these locations if they exist for you and find the license.dat file. If you find the file copy it to the other locations. This should allow it to work for you. If you have problems with it after this please let me know and I will open a ticket for you and get this to our engineering team.

I check the following locations and here are the results.

C:\Documents and Settings\user1\Application Data\WebAssist\Expression Web\CSSSculptor
(Default User)
No WebAssist\Expression Web\CSSSculptor is in this location.

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\WebAssist\Expression Web\CSSSculptor
WebAssist\Expression Web\CSSSculptor is in this location but there is no license.dat file.

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\WebAssist\Expression Web\CSSSculptor
No WebAssist\Expression Web\CSSSculptor is this location
