Expanding ecart product pricing options

I have an installed e cart with about 10 products. All works as it should be.
Client now wants to have the same 10 products, but at different price points for different groups.
Example: the public page product would cost $30 but a re-seller could access a page where the product would cost $15.

I can used password protected folders for the different presentations, but what can I do in the cart to present the difference in pricing? I thought of adding a field for sorting, so that the discount presentation page would only show those with a sorted entry. But perhaps this is already in the cart somehow that I haven't considered. I see options groups, etc, but am not clear about how it works. I also considered a coupon system, but when I tried to make sense of a tutorial on that about a year ago, I got totally lost.

If you can point me in the right direction, I'd be grateful. Thanks as always.

in your products table, add 2 price columns, one for regular pricing and one for reseller pricing.

on the pages that are available to the resellers, use the reseller price column for the price, on the regular pages, use the regular price column for the price.

OK... so here's where I am so far. I set up a second db for second cart. I set up a new folder to create the cart pages. All good so far....until it came time to run the check out wizard. When I got to that step, it worked fine except that it over wrote my first checkout pages. And since the two carts are using two different db/tables, I need to keep them separate. I was expecting the new check out pages to land in the new folder, and thought I had selected it for that.

Any pointers, much appreciated.

To simplify the process, i suggest making each subfolder a separate site in Dreamweaver. This will prevent confusion and prevent files from overwriting each other.

OK... I'll try that. Thanks.

Almost there. Blank php pages. Inserting the php code to find errors, I am getting this:

Fatal error: Call to a member function GetContent() on a non-object in /var/www/html/prodeal/shop.php on line 15

the problem is that you are using the same name for your connection as your eCart object.

you must use unique names for the eCart object and connection.
