Search Extension?

One of things I would truly love from WA is a search extension. I end up putting search on 90% of my sites and writing search crawlers is something that gets time consuming. I believe WA may even have some of the code necessary with the Surveyor technology... it would just need to add a crawl function to swallow up both static and dynamic text.

It would be great to have a complete extension that would provide the search input box and submit button, the crawler, and the code for the search output (or it could be placed in a template as well).

If you want a fully functioning search system I can highly recommend Zoom Search which is available in both free and paid for versions. If you are updating the search for your clients you can run as many domains as you want as it is licensed per computer not per domain.

I am using this on Murranji Photography and my own site at the moment.

It is a windows program so I run it in one of the VM's I have set up on my Mac and it works a treat.

How well or should I ask how often does it crawl for when changes are made on a site? Or is the crawl on zoom activated manually every so often?

Because I only run my VM's when I need to I have it set to crawl the sites when told to but there is an option to set it to do it at specific time intervals I believe.
