MySQLi User Authentication

MySQLi User Authentication

Your MySQLi User Authenticate tutorial is of little help so I need detailed help how to setup authentication with various access levels. Here is what I need: Database table has fields including Username, Password and AccessLevel (Admin or Membership). The access level is to have either an "Admin" or a "Member" level. So with a single sign-on, the logon setup should determine which pages the user can view, depending on which level is set for each limited-access page. I have no idea how to use your extension's setup screens to accomplish this.

MySQLi User Access cant do single login user levels like this.

You would need to create a Login for each user level. In the login behavior, the first ssetting is to set the login name. Use a unique nale for each login.

On the Find Record Tab, set it to filter the Username and Password columns on the login form elements, for the user level, enter the user level value Admin for the admin login and Member for the member login, etc.

When applying the restrict access behavior to a page, select the corresponding login name.

So an Admin would have to also logon as a Member to view the Member pages, etc., etc? Is there a way the add both Member and Admin to the Admin logon so an administrator can view all restricted pages and still restrict a Member to view only the Member-restricted pages? Is there someway to tweak the code to permit this?

No, There is not a way to do single login with user levels, the admin would need to login as admin to view admin pages and login as memeber to view member pages.

When Data Bridge is updated to use MySQLi, it will possible to use Security Assist to create user level authentication.
