Error: The files from the _mmServerScripts folder are for the server model PHP-MySQL...

I'm getting this error message in DW CC any time I try to add a connection to a php page:

"The files from the _mmServerScripts folder are for the server model PHP-MySQL. Try to connect to the database using a different server model..."

I already have the Server Behaviors and Database Bindings mumbo-jumbo installed and can see the my existing connection in the panel, but my database doesn't show any tables even though there are dozens.

If I ignore this and try to launch DataAssist Pages, I get the attached error. It seems like a DW problem, not a DA problem, but I can't even begin to use DA until I get this resolved. Anyone know how to fix this?

If you send me your site definition .ste file exported from Dreamweaver I can try to reproduce the problem and figure out the cause.

Hi Ray, your reply got me thinking and so I moved my db tables to a fresh site in DW and everything is working as expected. I was able to create a db connection, open a blank php form page and use the DA Pages wizard. Where would I start to debug the old site? Would it help if I trashed the _mmServerScripts folder on local and remote and replace them with the ones from the new site?

Mind you, I'd used WA scripts on the old site for many years, but haven't tried using the latest extension again until very recently, when I ran into this trouble. Thanks, Art

It is probably an issue with the site definition. Make sure you have a testing server set up and that the root folder and url are set correctly.

Hi Ray, I'm still getting the above screenshot error on one of my sites in Dreamweaver when trying to use DataAssist Pages.

It seems like it could be an issue with the FTP permissions. I can't seem to download some files on the server. If Dreamweaver is unable to update the files in the _mmServerScripts folder it would cause the error you are getting. The site definition doesn't look wrong, but It doesn't work for me in CC2017 either, and I did notice the other FTP restrictions on some files.

Hi Ray, could you elaborate on what file permissions the _mmServerScripts folder should have? Right now it's set to 755 whereas the files inside are all set to 664. This is the same for the webassist folder. The owner is the same for all and is the main account I use to connect and work on the site (that's also what's used in the site definitions.

I've tried deleting the _mmServerScripts folder on the server and creating a fresh, clean copy, but that doesn't help. I've got a few other domains hosted at the same company that I've successfully used WA scripts on, so it's very frustrating for it not to work on this one domain.

I think I figured out the problem.

1) You have the server set to: http://www.omagonline.com/ but the server has an automatic redirect to: http://omagonline.com/
Try setting the Web URL for the testing server to just: http://omagonline.com/

2) You have included a port number in your connection server. Try removing that as well.

When I made those two changes I was able to connect to your database and see the tables.

Hi Ray, I did what you suggested and was able to connect! I tested it on a small insert/results/update set of forms and everything worked smoothly. Thanks so much for your help, you're a life saver!

Hi Ray,

One last question about this. I'm trying to clean out that server and am seeing what look like older versions of WebAssist code that are probably not being used any more. Can you tell me if these directories are safe to discard if I'm now only working with projects created using the latest WebAssist extensions?

/WA_DataAssist/
/WA_ValidationToolkit/
/WADbSearch/

I've spot-checked the new code and all I can see is references to files within the 'webassist' directory, so I figured it was okay to delete these old folders. I just don't want to find out that things have stopped working because they were actually still being used. Thanks in advance!
