Time format on form

I have a Time input field on a form. It is in HH:MM AM/PM format.

I have been informed by an iPhone user, that when they try to input the time, it does not allow them to type a time, but instead it presents a dropdown box to select the hour and minutes. However, it is in 24-hour format, so it triggers the alert on the form that it is an invalid time.

The time field works fine on other platforms.

Is there a way to code for that?

I did some web searching, and it appears that the time format depending on operating system locale. This means you can't control it.

The only solutions would be to use a custom time script that you have more control of, or loosen up your validation to allow 24 hour format.
