syntax error on OAuth.php

Hello,

I'm building a new but simple contact form on a site. The site was built many years ago on HTML 3 and Bootstrap 3 with some very, very old Webassist functionality. I'm working on progressively updating it - the home page is done and now I'm working on the contact form. Then I'll keep working through the site, page-by-page; it's a huge site.

I've cleared out all the old Webassit files from the server and have replaced them with the current files. I recently built a very similar form on another client's site that is working well; I have compared the two but I can't find any discrepancies. However, I'm getting an error:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '[' in /home/dtaxtt8bb2k95jot/public_html/webassist/email/phpmailer/src/OAuth.php on line 115

I'm going to replace the live Contact page with a place-holder so it'll load while we troubleshoot.

Here's a temporary page with the error:

Thanks for any advice you can offer!
