Search box on all pages, but results on new page

Hello,

I would like to place a search box on each form, just like you have on your website, but I would like the results to show up on a separate page. I realize that the results page has to be PHP page (no problem there), but I am not sure how to create the search box on the other pages that are already HTML based. I would appreciate it if I could speak to someone in support on this for a few minutes.

you just need to create the form on the page, and set the action of the form to post to the results page:

html:
<form id="form1" method="post" action="results.php">
<input type="text" name="keyword" id="keyword" />
<input type="submit" name="button" id="button" value="Submit" />
</form>

you can add this form to all of your pages, and each one will post the keyword search term to the results.php page.

One more question setting up Search For BOSS

Hello Jason,

I was able to get that part done, and I thank you for your response. However, I am following the "Getting Started with Search For BOSS" guide, and I am on step 10 for "Add Search for BOSS", but I don't see what I think I should see. Instead I get the following dialog box:

Setup Instructions

To use dynamic data on this page:
1. Create a site for this file (checked)
2. Choose a document type (checked)
3. Set up the site's testing server
4. Create a recordset

Please let me know what should be in the testing server and what do I put in the recordset? Lastly, once I do these things, I should be able to expand the form that contains the search field, yes?

Please let me know today if possible. Thanks and have a wonderful holiday!

Regards,

Cliff Hall

See the "Defining a Dynamic Site in Dreamweaver" tutorial on the learning resources page for information on configuring the testing server tab of your site:
resources.php

You will not have to create a recordset for search for boss, the checklist will go away once the testing server is defined.
