data connection problem

Hello, I am using the ecart software but do not have an ecart problem and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. I am using php pages and connecting to a mysql database hosted at Go Daddy using Dreamweaver CS3. I almost have my shopping cart done (using ecart) and all of the sudden my site will not connect to the database? I am not getting any errors or anything - just getting that no tables show up in my database. I have checked and rechecked my passwords. Everything is working online - I just can not make any changes to my recordsets because no tables will show up. Again everything was working fine until this week. I did change the hosting to a dedicated ip with an ssl certificate - but it was even working after I did that? I have other sites set up with a database connection in dw cs3 and they all work fine? Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you.

I would contact goDaddy. Have you tried connecting to the database with another tool? Most likely the ip address or domain was updated when you switched sites.

The only reason I am not contacting Go Daddy is because it is working online ok - if the database was not connecting online the site would not be working - so that is what is making me think it is something in Dreamweaver? Any thoughts on that?

Most likely they have security settings preventing access from a remote computer. So it may not be possible unless you contact them and they add your computer as having access rights. Sometimes hosting providers won't do this and you have to create a local copy of the database for testing, but only goDaddy will know the answer for you.

Well that is helpful, I did not know that so I will give them a call - thanks again
