While executing timer in WA_iRite_Ser.htm,...

Obtained HTMLEditor end of '09.

Installed and tried it producing a couple of test editor forms. Worked as expected.

Left it alone for a few weeks and now when I click to install another editor I receive an error popup (see ATTACHED image).

Have uninsatalled and reinstalled but still same popup appears, so cannot do a thing as after the popup all HTMLEditor dialog (under error popup) just closes.

Any clues please?

PS have searched the forums using key file names and no luck

The line of code referred to in this error message is saying that you are unable to connect to our server to activate the product. If you have any security, virus scan or firewall software running, please disable this before trying to activate the product. If you are still unable to activate, please post back and we will take the steps to generate a license file for you.

Worked BUT...

Jimmy Wu

Thank you for the explicit reply which did work once I connected to the web.

I had since deleted everything WA I could find and so had to add serial number again and that sorted it ALMOST. Bad luck the error box was not a little more informative (two underlying popups show no content at that stage).

Now same happened again after registering and closing connection and dreamweaver, seems I have to connect to the web EVERY TIME I want to use DW and add / edit an HTMLEditor.

That is unsatisfactory as I don't trust any software that has to converse with a website WITHOUT my expressed permission or knowledge. Nor do I trust the continued paranoia checks AFTER registration and I realize that that policy probably has nothing to do with the tech staff.

Go back 15+ years, and I have always only connected to the web when / as needed (by me) and I watch out for idle time data transfers too; that level of paranoia is acceptable from the PC point of view but not from a products point of view.

So after all that, thanks again but I don't think the HTMLEditor is suitable (wish I knew before buying the licence).

Regards, RW.

You should not have to activate the product each time you are running it. Does this only happen for HTML Editor or for all the WebAssist products you have installed?

Things change but remain the same!

Thought I'd try recent HTMLEditor upgrade beta... seeing how I had paid for the package but couldn't get previous to work without being online (see above).

Same problem remains. Took rego ok online. Have to be online to insert a form else the rego window appears.

Uninstalled Editor and reinstalled paypal freebie package (had removed it long ago) and skype package (no prob). They worked ok. Paypal package took rego ok online, BUT ALSO won't happen if offline.

Reinstalled Editor beta and nothing changed. Still won't open offline.

All will be deleted again, wasted money still.

Have you checked the license.dat file to see if it gets deleted each time? If you have a valid license.dat file, you shouldn't need to activate again even if its not online.
