Updating FedEx in PowerStore 3 or older

This tutorial will show you how to update your older PowerStore to use the latest FedEx version without having to go through the dirty process of reinstalling PowerStore.

This is only for users who do not wish to update PowerStore to the most current version. For instructions on updating PowerStore 2 or 3, see this tutorial. For PowerStore 4, use this tutorial. For PowerStore 4.5, this tutorial is the one you want.

arrow downWhat you need to start

  1. A PowerStore site already installed and updated to the latest version
  2. The updated PowerStore FedEx file which can be downloaded here WA_eCart_FedEx_PHP.zip
  3. A FedEx account

arrow downUpdate Your FedEx Account

  1. Go to http://www.fedex.com/us/developer/migration.html
  2. Click the Migrate Now button.
  3. Follow the Migration steps to get your new FedEx account info ( Key, Password, Account number, Meter Number ).
  4. Wait for FedEx to send you your new information.


IMPORTANT! Wait until you have the updated information before continuing to the next steps!

arrow downUpdate Your PowerStore File

  1. Extract the contents of the WA_eCart_FedEx_PHP.zip file.
  2. Open a connection to your live PowerStore files via FTP.
    Or your preferred method for accessing the files you are using for PowerStore.
  3. Create a copy of your existing PowerStore in case something goes wrong during the upgrade process.
  4. Open the WA_eCart folder.
  5. Replace the WA_eCart_FedEx_PHP.php file with the updated one.

arrow downEnter Your FedEx Information

  1. Open the WA_eCart_FedEx_PHP.php from your WA_eCart folder in Dreamweaver.
  2. Switch to Code view
  3. Search for the line $FedEx_XML .= "<v10:Key>[KEY]</v10:Key>\n";
    This will be around line 76.
  4. Replace the [KEY] text with your FedEx Key.
    Be sure to replace the brackets as well.
  5. Search for the line $FedEx_XML .= "<v10:Password>[PASS]</v10:Password>\n";
    This will be around line 77.
  6. Replace the [PASS] text with your FedEx password.
    Be sure to replace the brackets as well.
  7. Search for the line $FedEx_XML .= "<v10:AccountNumber>[ACCOUNT]</v10:AccountNumber>";
    This will be around line 79.
  8. Replace the [ACCOUNT] text with your FedEx Account number.
    Be sure to replace the brackets as well.
  9. Search for the line $FedEx_XML .= "<v10:MeterNumber>[METER]</v10:MeterNumber>";
    This will be around line 80.
  10. Replace the [METER] text with your FedEx Meter number.
    Be sure to replace the brackets as well.
  11. Save the file


Your PowerStore is now using the latest and greatest FedEx, and you're all set to get back to selling.
