This tutorial will show you how to manually update your eCart site to use the latest FedEx version without all the muss and fuss of recreating all of your eCart pages.

This is for users who created their eCart sites with an older version of eCart, or for users with the latest version who would rather manually update FedEx. <a href="/community/tutorials/view_tutorial.php?tid=108">For users with the latest eCart who would rather use the wizard to update, click here.</a>

What you need to start

An eCart site already installed
The updated eCart FedEx file which can be downloaded here: WA_eCart_FedEx_PHP.zip
A FedEx account

Update Your FedEx Account

Go to http://www.fedex.com/us/developer/migration.html.

Click the Migrate Now button.
Follow the Migration steps to get your new FedEx account info ( Key, Password, Account number, Meter Number ).
Wait for FedEx to send you your new information.

IMPORTANT! Wait until you have the updated information before continuing to the next steps!

Update Your eCart FedEx File

Extract the contents of the WA_eCart_FedEx_PHP.zip file.
Open a connection to your live eCart files via FTP.
Or your preferred method for accessing the files you are using for eCart.
Create a copy of your existing eCart site in case something goes wrong during the upgrade process.
Open the WA_eCart folder.
Replace the WA_eCart_FedEx_PHP.php file with the updated one.

Enter Your FedEx Information

Open the WA_eCart_FedEx_PHP.php from your WA_eCart folder in Dreamweaver.
Switch to Code view
Search for the line $FedEx_XML .= "<v10:key>[KEY]</v10:key>\n";
This will be around line 76.
Replace the [KEY] text with your FedEx Key.
Be sure to replace the brackets as well.
Search for the line $FedEx_XML .= "<v10:password>[PASS]</v10:password>\n";
This will be around line 77.
Replace the [PASS] text with your FedEx password.
Be sure to replace the brackets as well.
Search for the line $FedEx_XML .= "<v10:accountnumber>[ACCOUNT]</v10:accountnumber>";
This will be around line 79.
Replace the [ACCOUNT] text with your FedEx Account number.
Be sure to replace the brackets as well.
Search for the line $FedEx_XML .= "<v10:meternumber>[METER]</v10:meternumber>";
This will be around line 80.
Replace the [METER] text with your FedEx Meter number.
Be sure to replace the brackets as well.
Save the file

Your eCart Store is now using the latest and greatest in FedEx technology, and you're all set to start selling with confidence again.
