<p>Although the content management feature of Site Sculptor contains most of the functionality a website might need, the WebAssist Solution Pack PowerCMS 2 contains a number of additional features that can further enhanced your CMS. PowerCMS 2 can be purchased from WebAssist.com and the files available can be applied to your Site Sculptor CMS to add the desired functionality.

NOTE:Unlike the content management feature of Site Sculptor, a purchase of PowerCMS 2 allows for installing on only one domain. You will need to purchase a PowerCMS 2 license for each Site Sculptor site that you are upgrading.</p>

  3. Enter the email address and password you used when making your purchase.
  4. Click the Download Your Products link.
  5. Locate and select the PowerCMS 2 option in your Download Center, and download the .zip file.

    1. Windows: Right-click and choose Extract All...
    2. Mac: Double-click the .zip file. The extracted files will be saved to the same location as the .zip.

  7. Follow the steps below to make sure you only overwrite the files that are necessary.

arrow downUpdating your files

Since Site Sculptor's content management already contains a limited version of PowerCMS 2, you only need to overwrite certain files that provide the additional functionality. Follow these steps to overwrite the correct files.

Step 1: Log into your FTP (remote server)

  1. Your first step is to create a connection to your website's live files so that you can overwrite them.

If you use Dreamweaver's FTP feature, change your site from Local view to Remote view to view the live files. Otherwise, create a connection through an alternative FTP application such as Filezilla or Terminal.

Step 2: Rename the admin folder

In the newest release of PowerCMS, the admin folder has been renamed to admin_cms to separate it from any other administrative systems that may already exist on the site. You will need to rename the admin folder prior to updating your files to make sure that correct files are overwritten.

  1. Using your preferred FTP application, select the admin folder and choose rename.
This may be available by right-clicking, or simple clicking on the folder name once it is already selected.
  2. Enter admin_cms for the folder name.

Step 3: Overwriting the files

Follow these steps to make sure you only overwrite the files that are necessary.

  1. Open the unzipped folder of PowerCMS 2 that you just downloaded.
  2. Open the rename_ and_upload_file_folder directory.
  3. Open the admin folder.
  4. Leave this window open and return to Dreamweaver/FTP application.
  5. Using your preferred FTP application, open the admin folder of your Site Sculptor site on your live server.
  6. Return to your PowerCMS 2 files and highlight all the files within the admin folder.
  7. Drag the files from the PowerCMS 2 admin folder to the admin folder of your Site Sculptor site.
This should overwrite any files with matching names and add any additional files that exist in PowerCMS 2 but don't exist in Site Sculptor.
  8. Once these files have been uploaded, you can repeat this process as described below.
  9. Using the same process as you did for the admin folder, copy every file that exists in the following folders to their respective location on your live Site Sculptor site.

    1. css
    2. images
    3. js

  10. Once you have copied those files, there is one last file to copy over to update the menu styles to the PowerCMS 2 style.
  11. In the PowerCMS 2 files open CSSMenuWriter\cssmw.
  12. In your Site Sculptor live files, open CSSMenuWriter\cssmw.
  13. Replace the Site Sculptor menu.css file with the one found in the PowerCMS 2 files.

Once you have copied all those PowerCMS 2 files to your live Site Sculptor site, you can open your website's CMS and refresh your browser to see the changes.

arrow downWhat to do next...

With PowerCMS 2 now installed on your Site Sculptor site, you can start implementing some more advanced features such as additional user accounts, adding and removing pages, and managing the HTML Editor settings.
